Tetripil

A Spanish, pixel-style Tetris-inspired birthday game made for my mother.

The short version

Tetripil is not one of my largest technical projects. That is why it belongs here. I made it in Spanish for my mother’s birthday, with custom pixel-art pieces based on her poses.

Why I built it

One player was enough reason to finish it.

The game opens with ‘¡Feliz cumpleaños, mamá!’ and turns seven pixel portraits into the familiar tetromino shapes. Score, lines, next-piece preview, pause, keyboard controls, and touch controls make it a complete little game rather than a static card.

What I like about it

The personal details were the product.

The Spanish copy, purple palette, portrait pieces, and celebratory tone would make no sense in a generic project. Together they are the project. Tetripil reminds me that usefulness can mean delighting exactly one person.
